Effective June 1, 2024.
1. PROGRAM TERM
a) There is a 12 week paid minimum commitment for weekly lesson programs. The trial lesson week is not included in the minimum period.
b) Program subscriptions maybe be terminated within 3 days of the trial lesson by emailing your request to hello@sonomusic.com.au. Where termination is not requested within this period, the 12 week minimum commitment applies.
c) If a leave of absence is taken during the initial 12 weeks, it is not included in the minimum commitment period.
d) Program subscriptions are ongoing and perpetual until terminated. They do not end following the minimum commitment period.
2. TAKING LEAVE
You can “pause” your program where you wish to take a leave of absence for 2 or more consecutive weeks. If you wish to take a leave of absence, you are required to submit the “Notice of Leave” form with 5 days notice.
If this form is received, Sono School Of Music will:
a) delete scheduled fee payments equalling the number of weeks of leave taken such that make-up lessons do not accrue; and
b) hold your weekly appointment reservation where the leave period is not greater than 4 weeks.
c) If you take leave, we guarantee we will hold your weekly time slot for a maximum of 4 weeks per occasion. (If you cannot attend for more than 4 weeks, but would like to guarantee your slot, you have the option to pay for the weeks in excess of 4 and cancel the appointments you cannot attend so they will stand as make-up lessons)
d) Leave cannot exceed 10 weeks over a 12 month period. If it does, casual attendance fees will apply and we cannot guarantee your weekly time slot will continue to be reserved for you.
e) You cannot attend appointments (including using make-up lessons), while on leave.
f) Individual lessons that cannot be attended must be rescheduled; ie. leave cannot be taken for single or non-consecutive weeks.
3. MAKE-UP LESSONS
a) Make-up lessons are any cancelled lessons that do not form part of a Leave of Absence.
b) Make-up lessons are non-refundable. You are paying for a program subscription which includes your lesson program development and a weekly, exclusive appointment reservation, not on a “per lesson” basis.
c) Make-up lessons expire 3 months following the date of the original lesson. The lesson date is noted in the online scheduler. Please try not to let make-up lessons accrue. [Note: make-up lessons held prior to 01/06/24 expire 3 months after program termination date, in accordance with the previous agreement.]
4. FEES
a) Fees are payable only via our direct debit billing system.
b) Fees are non refundable, except in the case of appointment reservations falling on studio closure dates, or cases where we cannot provide services due to staff leave or illness.
c) Fees are subject to change. A minimum of one month notice will be provided to clients prior to fee changes. (Fees are generally increased annually in line with increasing operation costs).
d) If you have a declined payment it will reprocess after three days if we haven’t been contacted by you.
e) If payment fails to clear after two retry attempts, your program may be suspended and no further lessons will be granted until fees owing are paid.
f) Fees are not waived for a suspended period. Lessons missed during a suspended period can be rescheduled once fees are up-to-date.
5. TERMINATION
a) You may terminate your program by submitting the Program Cancellation Request form with a minimum of 2 weeks notice.
b) Any remaining make-up lessons at the time of program termination may still be booked and are subject to the normal expiry period.
c) Time slots are not held beyond the program subscription end date. Former clients wishing to use make-up lessons must book them individually via the online scheduler.
d) You agree to pay for any fees that may be owing at the time of your program subscription termination.
e) If you terminate your program we cannot guarantee the same appointment time or program place will be available to you in the future.
f) Your program may be terminated by Sono School Of Music if we wish to discontinue offering service to you for any reason.

a) This “Service Agreement” incorporates the “Lesson Policy.“
b) Reference to “You” in this agreement includes the parents or guardians of under-aged clients.
c) Sono School Of Music may amend this Service Agreement from time to time.
